#2 Dictionary Exercise



1.commute(v.):to travel regularly by bus, train, car, etc. between your place of work and your home.

  • commute (from A) (to B)
    Ex: I commute from New Taipei City to Taipei every day.
  • commute between A and B
     Ex :Denny have commuted between Taichung and Nantou about three years.


2.disruption(n.):a situation in which it is difficult for something to continue in the normal way; the act of stopping something from continuing in the normal way.

Ex:The earthquake caused serious disruptions in Japan.

3.correspondingly(adv.):in a way that matches or is connected with something that you have just       mentioned.

Ex:This mission is more complex and have to spend correspondingly more times.

4.swap(v.):to give something to somebody and receive something in exchange.

Ex:Can I swap my red postcard for your purple one?

5.reinforce(v.):to make a feeling, an idea, etc. stronger.

 Ex:The government decided to reinforce some public constructions.

My favorite online dictionary is Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary . Because it explain vocabularies more easily than others, so I can understand more quickly. There doesn't have too much difficult vocabularies in example sentences.I think it is the best one for me.
